-What happens post treatment
Day 1~2: Extreme sensitivity to light so you must stay indoors as much as possible. Run errands after sunset
Day 3~5: Treated skin will be very red and tender and may start peeling, scabbing and flaking off. This is very normal and means the treatment has worked well.
Day 6~9: Redness of the skin starts to ease, the skin may feel quite itchy, tight and uncomfortable but it is starting to heal
Day 10~14: Smooth healthy skin will begin to be revealed. You will have a pink glow. This will fade over a few weeks. May take up to 3 months
-What can I use after PDT?
-Cleanse the skin with a gentle cleanser (e.g. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser) twice a day. Cleansing the skin will reduce crusting and keep the area clean.
-For first 2 weeks I would recommend using repair cream after washing face
I would recommend Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, Dermeze Treatment Ointment or QV Intensive cream
-You can also use after sun aloe vera gel or thermal spring mist to relieve discomfort
-Please avoid picking at skin
-Please avoid exfoliants, cosmetics, micro needling, retinoids, cosmeceuticals during first 2 weeks
-As a minimum 1~2 weeks “downtime” is recommended following PDT. Please do not schedule any photo shoots
-Please use mineral sunscreen with minimum SPF 30+ everyday
-Please see your doctor at 2 weeks and 8 weeks for skin check after PDT
