During the skin healing process, minor itching, hives, flaking, or redness may appear. If symptoms persist,
please email us. Do not pick, squeeze or agitate during the recovery period.
The Day of the Procedure:
- Please do not wear any make-up, jewellery, facial perfume, or after-shave.
- If you have any signs of a skin infection in the area to be treated, we may have to reschedule the procedure to prevent any complications that may occur.
- Expect to be with us for between 1.5~2 hours, depending on the extent of your treatment.
- Please bring your phone or magazine to read during numbing cream application.
Please avoid the following activities for at least 2 -5 days following microneedling or
until the above subside:
- Direct ultra violet exposure (sun and solariums)
- Intensive cardio, exercise or gymnasium regimens
- Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or sauna
- Spray or self-tanning
- Occlusive comedogenic makeup – mineral makeup can be applied on day 2 if necessary.
Please avoid the following activities for at least 2 weeks following microneedling - Further clinical treatments not prescribed by us (including, but not limited
to): microdermabrasion, laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, muscle relaxant injections and
dermal fillers) - Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean
- Tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing)
- Please avoid the use of skin care products containing any of the following active resurfacing ingredients for up to 5 days following microneedling
- Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) (including but not limited to) glycolic, lactic or malic acid
- Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) including salicylic acid
- Benzoyl peroxide
- Retinoids (including but not limited to) tretinoin, retinol and retinaldehyde
- Hydroquinone
- High levels of Kojic or azelaic acid
- Alcohol (including but not limited to) isopropyl alcohol/de-natured alcohol/rubbing alcohol
